The Documentary Enterprise

First of all, if the work isn't any good, no matter what's on this page, the work still won't be any good.
Yes, I could methodically list all of the educational and creative accomplishments I've been fortunate enough to achieve, tell you what kind of music I like, or list all the books, paintings, and ideas that have moved me, but, again, that wouldn't make the work any better.
So, in the spirit of generosity, I'll spare you the tiresome lists of grants, collections, exhibitions, museums, etcetera, that clutter most of the similar sites I visit. Besides, I don't really have impressive lists to offer underneath any of those categories anyway. Yet, even if I did, I still wouldn't bore you with them — really. And you can trust me on that, because I'm always right and I never lie.
That said, I live and work in San Francisco and spend the majority of my time and energy, directly or indirectly, photographing, writing, or in the darkroom.
I consider my work principally documentary, with Hemingway's, "Write what you know," edict in mind. And that's what I do, whatever the form of the record: I stick with what I know most thoroughly. In that respect, my work is, technically, autobiographical. However, that doesn't mean, necessarily, the work is about me.
I have an inexhaustible supply of subjects. They are those places, things, events, and people with which I'm surrounded. The only thing that will bring an end to that supply will also bring an end to me.

Regarding the photographs, the images presented here range in printed size from 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 to 11x14 inch contact prints, with a variety of enlargements, typically, approximately 5x7 inches, in between.
The negatives have been produced in a number of formats, specifically: 35mm, the rest in inches — 2 1/4 x 2 3/4, 2 1/4 x 3 1/4, 4x5, 5x7, 8x10, and 11x14. The scans, within reason, have been made in order to maintain the original print proportions.

T, however, for his part, believes the only information really necessary is that which is contained on myspace,"I make pictures. I write stories. I listen to music. I drink Ten High — all else is folly."
